Introduction

SAproxy is an easy-to-use anti-spam solution based on SpamAssassin. If you read mail via POP3, you can use it to automatically detect incoming spam, mark it as spam, and then file it however you wish.

Overview

This proxy is designed to allow a Win32 POP3 mail client to use SpamAssassin to filter your mail. It does so by standing between the mail client and the POP3 server, filtering the data being passed between the two. When a mail message is retrieved, the proxy waits to read the full message before handing it to the client. After it has the full message, it uses SpamAssassin to determine whether it's spam, marks the message accordingly, and then returns the message to the client.

The mail client can then easily filter the mail based on the SpamAssassin markup which is configurable.

Just follow the directions in this manual to install and configure the program. You should have an almost spam-free mail box in five to ten minutes.
